St.Joseph's School,Jaldhaka.

To god; through country,that’s the motto of St. Joseph’s School, Jaldhaka. The school was established in the year 2006,situated in a peaceful and healthy atmosphere surrounded by the mountains in Paren,Jaldhaka.The school is run by the sisters of cluny,Kalimpong. It is a coed school, which has its primary section and senior section up to class 8 at present but is being upgraded yearly and has plans to upgrade till the Madhyamik and H.S standards. The school is just four years old but within this short period it has turned out to be one of the best school’s around Jaldhaka, all the credit goes to the sister’s and staff of the school. The Annual School Sports-2009 on the 14th of October was a great event to watch. Here are some images of the event.

The most essential factor, which builds up a healthy society, is education. The reason why we are still backward today is because the poor people of our society are still illiterate. If the children get education, then we can expect for a better tomorrow. It is time that we think about this matter seriously and try to educate at least one needy child. We can make a difference…. The Government has taken several measures to help the children but still the children find it difficult, even to pay the small amount of fee, buy school dress, and all those small but essential things that a school going child requires.

There are some kind hearted people who have contributed towards the education of some of the very needy children. These children are so poor that they have to work just to feed themselves. The people of Jaldhaka and the parents of these children are very thankful to those who have helped financially. To name a few donors (sponsors) we have Khando Denzom Bhutia, Pema choden and Dawabhuti Bhutia…These children are really thankful to their sponsors..watch this..

Lower Suruk Bindu,M.S.K.

Lower Suruk,Bindu M.S.K. a school in Jaldhaka Hydel Project celebrated World Environment Day on 5th June.The celebration started with the head masters speech and a rally by the staff and students of the school,carrying placards with slogans like Save Trees ,Avoid plastic,keep our surroundings clean and such...The students themselves picked up plastic wrappers on the road and swept and cleaned the drains.The celebration ended with distribution of sweets and biscuits to the students.

I saw this bird,locally called Jureli,from my window,in Jaldhaka.I liked its moves,hope you too do.

Aman made wooden mixer grinder,local people use it to grind rice grain to produce rice from it.Locally called Dhikkki.

Recent downpour caused the road to slide,above f/6 2No. colony,Jaldhaka,but has left enough room for a bus to pass.The road is being maintained by the State electricity board.

People living in Paren, Girigaon,(Jaldhaka Hydel Project) has a reason to smile, because of a new road being constructed under National Rural Employment Generation Scheme (N.R.E.G.S),100 days employment,under the Govt. of India.The road links Lower Paren to the village area of Gairigaon (Dahal Kaolcha).The road will be fully accessible only after a small bridge gets constructed,nobody knows when.
