Demonstration in Jaldhaka Police Station by JSTO,GPTO,MSK,AND CONTRACTUAL WORKERS

Members of the 28th Constituency,J.S.T.O. G.P.T.O, M.S.K. Janamukti Asthai Karmachari Sangathan,S.S.K. and all the contractual workers of Darjeeling demonstrate in front of the Jaldhaka Police Station on 9th September 2010 to pressurise the Bengal Government to bring forward Nickole Tamang (prime accused of Madan Tamang murder case) alive,who had somehow disappeared from C.I.D custody from Pintail Village on 22nd August 2010.Also for the inclusion of Terai and Doaars in the interim Set-up,and for the positive outcome of the Tripartite talks to be held on the 30th of September.

St.Joseph's School,Jaldhaka.

To god; through country,that’s the motto of St. Joseph’s School, Jaldhaka. The school was established in the year 2006,situated in a peaceful and healthy atmosphere surrounded by the mountains in Paren,Jaldhaka.The school is run by the sisters of cluny,Kalimpong. It is a coed school, which has its primary section and senior section up to class 8 at present but is being upgraded yearly and has plans to upgrade till the Madhyamik and H.S standards. The school is just four years old but within this short period it has turned out to be one of the best school’s around Jaldhaka, all the credit goes to the sister’s and staff of the school. The Annual School Sports-2009 on the 14th of October was a great event to watch. Here are some images of the event.

The most essential factor, which builds up a healthy society, is education. The reason why we are still backward today is because the poor people of our society are still illiterate. If the children get education, then we can expect for a better tomorrow. It is time that we think about this matter seriously and try to educate at least one needy child. We can make a difference…. The Government has taken several measures to help the children but still the children find it difficult, even to pay the small amount of fee, buy school dress, and all those small but essential things that a school going child requires.

There are some kind hearted people who have contributed towards the education of some of the very needy children. These children are so poor that they have to work just to feed themselves. The people of Jaldhaka and the parents of these children are very thankful to those who have helped financially.
